This year, I was honored to receive the Steward of the Year Award from LDS Earth Stewardship.
I receive this recognition with deep gratitude, not as a personal achievement, but as a reflection of the work we are building here at Mountain Vista Homestead.
This land, this work, and these children matter deeply to me. Everything we do at Mountain Vista is rooted in a desire to help the next generation reconnect with the earth, develop practical skills, and grow in responsibility, creativity, and care for the world around them.
Stewardship is not just something we teach. It is something we live.
I am grateful to be part of a growing community that values the land, honors creation, and believes in raising children who know how to work with their hands and care for what they’ve been given.

Our unique homestead is idyllically situated on the foothills of Slate Canyon. With its sweeping mountain backdrop, mature trees, sparkling brook, beautiful animals, and gardens, this heavenly landscape naturally fosters a love of learning and harmonious earth stewardship.
In a world of rushed lifestyles and increasing screen time, there is a real need to slow down and feel the peace and inspiration that only God’s sacred creations can provide.
Grounded in faith and family, we are not just growing food and natural ecosystems. We are growing the hearts, minds, and hands of our little ones.
Through our one-of-a-kind micro-school and stewardship camps, we are inspiring the rising generation.
