A Different Kind of Summer!
Now Enrolling 2026
At Mountain Vista, we are creating something unique! Something slower, more intentional, and more connected to real life.
Our camps are rooted in the belief that children learn best when they are outside, using their hands, feeling the freshness of the air, and participating in meaningful work. We're here to simply invite them into something real and beautiful.

What Makes Mountain Vista
Homestead Camps Different?
Most camps are built around constant stimulation, fast-paced activities, and surface-level engagement.
At Mountain Vista, we do things differently.
Children are given the opportunity to slow down. To observe. To participate. To care for living things. To experience what it feels like to be capable and needed. And to lead out from a place of beautiful earth stewardship.
We focus on:
-
Hands-on, real-life experiences rather than passive activities
-
Small group settings where each child is known
-
Nature-based learning that builds awareness and confidence
-
Meaningful responsibility appropriate to each age
This is a place where they begin to develop a relationship with the world around them.
What Your Child Will Experience
Throughout the week, children will engage in a variety of hands-on experiences that may include:
-
Caring for animals in a gentle and supervised environment
-
Tending to garden beds and learning how things grow
-
Exploring soil, water, and plant systems
-
Nature-based play, observation, and discovery
-
Creative projects using natural materials
Children are not rushed from one activity to the next. There is a natural rhythm to the day that allows them to settle in, engage deeply, and enjoy the process of learning.
A Rhythm You Can Trust
Each day follows a consistent and predictable flow so children feel safe and grounded:
-
Arrival and free outdoor play
-
Morning circle and introduction to the day
-
Hands-on learning and group activities
-
Snack and rest time
-
Outdoor exploration and project work
-
Closing circle and reflection
This rhythm supports both structure and freedom, allowing children to feel secure while still having space to explore.
Age Groups
We offer camps designed to meet children where they are developmentally:
Ages 3–6
Play-based, gentle, and exploratory. Shorter activities, more guidance, and a focus on curiosity and connection.
Ages 7–11
More responsibility, deeper skill-building, and opportunities for leadership and independence.
What to Bring
-
Water bottle
-
Lunch and snacks
-
Closed-toe shoes
-
Weather-appropriate clothing
-
A change of clothes (recommended for younger campers or water play days)
Please send your child in clothing that can get dirty. This is part of the experience.
Safety and Environment
Children are supervised at all times in a small group setting.
All interactions with animals are guided and handled with care and respect.
We prioritize hydration, shade, and awareness of the outdoor environment throughout the day.
Our goal is to create a space where children feel both safe and capable.
Our Philosophy
We believe childhood should be rooted in reality, not constant entertainment.
When children are given the opportunity to participate in meaningful work, to care for living things, and to engage with the natural world, something shifts.
They become more confident.
More aware.
More grounded in who they are and how they fit into the world around them.
This is the work we are committed to at Mountain Vista.
Registration and Payment
Spots are limited in order to maintain small group sizes.
Registration is required in advance.
Venmo is preferred for payment, though cash is also accepted.
A Final Note to Parents
If you are looking for a camp that will simply keep your child busy, this may not be the right fit.
If you are looking for a place where your child will be known, invited into meaningful experiences, and given the opportunity to grow in quiet and lasting ways, we would love to have you join us.
