The Bug Squad!

Service Description

Join us at Mountain Vista for an immersive course all about the amazing world of bugs! Learn about the importance of 3 specific helpful homestead bugs and creepers (worms, ladybugs, and bees). Day 1: For our Group Project, we will learn about bug anatomy and build our own make-believe superhero bug! We will have our own bug Olympic Games and challenge teams through an outdoor obstacle course that teaches about our bug superpowers as they help strengthen our homestead ecosystem. Our Individual Project will consist of starting our tiny terrarium for our pet bugs. We will dig for worms and start our take-home terrariums! Day 2: Group Activity. As we will learn about helpful and challenging bugs, we will go on a ladybug hunt and collect Aphids. For our Individual Projects, we will paint a ladybug rock for the garden and catch ladybugs to include in our take-home terrariums. Day 3: For our Group Activity we will learn all about amazing Honey Bees! We will role play as we learn about the social aspects of a bee colony. As a Group Project we will harvest a frame of honey and as an Individual Project we will make our own bees wax lip balm to take home!
