Service Description

Join us at Mountain Vista for a hands-on course introducing permaculture design principles. Dive into designing your very own mini garden and food forest while also learning how to create beautiful pollinator gardens. Take home your plants to kickstart your journey in sustainable gardening practices. Day 1: Build the Soil! We will learn about and make our composting system. Campers will take home a bag of the best compost, (bunny droppings) to build the soil in your home. We will learn about natural energy flow, wind and water, for low maintenance, high-yield gardening. Day 2: Companion Gardening and Food Forests: We will learn about how plants work together harmoniously. We will identify specific plants you already have and what companion plants can build the ecosystem in your yard. We will forage for cuttings and plant them for campers to take home. Day 3: Design your dream garden! Campers will have homework! They will identify locations in their home yards that would be a perfect place to develop. Campers will make a plan to develop that location. We will make concrete mosaic paver stones to beautify their home garden.
