Service Description

Nature-inspired arts and crafts are at the heart of Mountain Vista's program for 8-12-year-olds. Our course blends creativity with the natural world, teaching campers to craft unique projects using materials found in the great outdoors. This hands-on experience is fun and educational, providing children with a creative outlet while sparking an interest in the environment. Day 1: Natural dyes! From foraging and gathering to processing and creating, our campers will use natural tools like a mortar and pestle to make their own natural dyes and pigments to paint their own beautiful t-shirts or tea towels. We will use natural dyes to decorate homemade cookies and cupcakes to take home! Day 2: Natures mandalas! We will learn about sacred geometry and the beauty and harmony of organic patterns of our natural world. We will create a special mandala using natural resources from our homestead. Day 3: We will learn about the balance of ecosystems and create our own natural terrariums to take home and enjoy.
